Sweater-Gap
Skirt-Zara
Heels-Zara
Necklace-H&M

I'd been eyeing this sweater for some time now and when I walked in The Gap and found out it was finally 50% off I couldn't walk away without it. Perfect for Miami weather since it has no sleeves and the temperatures seem to have no intention of dropping anytime soon. Perfect timing too since It's November and I have my fingers crossed that it will get cooler and then I'll be able to layer it and style it many other ways. Then there's the fringe skirt, what can I say? It speaks for itself! Well I gotta run but let me know what you guys think and.....

Short Story

It had been a while, being preoccupied with the newest addition to my family and all, my little rescue Furby. A little short story/post had to be squeezed in though. I love a nice fitting pair of shorts especially in the current Miami heat but when is a pair of shorts too short? It's obvious and I'm pretty sure you've all been 'eye-sored' by it one too many times. My number one rule is simple: If something's hanging out, then its out! Like my mom always said, "leave something for the imagination." Yes you wanna show of those toned tanned legs this summer, but keep it classy ;) Have an amazing and safe weekend and 'Stay Tuned'!

Vested Interest

I love to layer. The only problem with that is living in Miami and facing the summer heat. I'm not allowed to layer as much as I'd like. However, I've developed a liking for Vests. Like a blazer, but without sleeves. Genious! This one I borrowed from my bestie as I wasn't fast to snatch it when Zara had it available. I'm keeping my eyes open though. In the meantime, I'll keep having a vested interest in fall fashion by layering with whatever cooler, in both sense, alternatives I can get my hands on. Hope you're having an amazing week so far.

Simplicity

Did you know that what we call mules, that which I'm wearing, are more specifically referred to as slides? You see, mules were popular as indoor shoes in the 18th century and were originally closed toe and open back, heeled of course. By the 20th century they became associated with prostitutes and not until Marilyn Monroe, in the 1950's, started rocking them did she clean up its bad rep. Then came the birth of the 'slide', an open toe variation of the mule, I imagine for ventilation purposes, which of course we all love much more. So, the moral behind this story is, just as in the 'Cerulean Sweater' scene in The Devil Wears Prada, there is history behind everything we wear, in all it's complexity and in this case, simplicity. Now whoever said fashion isn't educating should make reference and take note! Hope you all have an amazing rest of the week.

Blazin' White & In Distress-ed

Blazer, Cami & Jeans-all Zara
Sandals-YSL
Handbag-Balenciaga

The two focal points of this post, as the title suggests, are my white blazer and my distressed boyfriend jeans, both purchased at Zara one more way back than the other. I don't know who can honestly deny loving white, especially in a blazer. Although it requires true commitment to wear white outerwear, meaning a trip to the dry cleaners after each use, even if the dry cleaners were in Timbuktu I'd still wear my white blazer without thinking twice. To balance out my blazer, regardless of its fit, I opted for jeans to make the look more casual, my favorite pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, to be more specific. If you are able to find a pair of distressed denim just torn enough and to the right degree, you are one of the lucky ones. In my case, I had to wear mine a several times, bend my knees, stretch, etc. a couple times before they evolved into exactly what I wanted them to be, which is what you see. Nowadays, the more torn the better. Who would have thought right?? I hope you guys have a blazin' hot weekend, by that I mean fun, don't go combusting from heat! What's your fav Spring/Summer trend right now? I'll be sharing more of mine soon.

Sky's The Limit

Sweater-Urban Outfitters
Leopard Denim-Fade to Blue (@ Neiman's)
Booties-Zara

As one of my all time favs, Notorious BIG, there was no passing up this sweater once I knew it was out there! Drove miles to scoop up the last one in store...talk about luck ;) Also scored these awesome booties the same day at Zara and they have quickly climbed to the top of my fav list. With that said I had to pair with my fav jeans today to just complete the look. Sky's the limit, also an all time fav song of the rapper, was also my high school yearbook quote. Always remember that whatever you want you can have if, like my sister puts it, you are willing to work for it. Sky is your limit! Hope you liked the post;)
